And here I am again this year after three days spent at the Book Fair in Bologna, one step now habitual and obligatory events in this area! I must say that the show is more or less every year, with innovations that have made a little less pleasure and more!
Among the nice things the wonderful exposure of the author Roberto Innocenti (a necessary requirement of bow), a major Italian artist which has significantly given a touch of class to the display of the winners of the competition on the quality swinging! (this year was chosen a large number of works from the very dark tones definitely tastes de ... bus!)
a note merit is also given to the host country (this year, Korea) that in addition to exhibiting his works gave him the opportunity to see a fair number of books, some of which are quite substantial and well made ... I also noticed, traveling to fair, a greater number of exhibition stands of small houses and cared much more magnified .. in spite of well-established major publishing houses each year are noted for the halls!
What I have greatly puzzled this year has been the limitation for upload to on the now famous "Wailing Wall" for us poor illustrators and cartoonists often limited to a prescribed box, beyond which they could enter their designs ... rule ..... but abandoned after the second day ... maybe someone has complained, and rightly so! (it's the only way to get us out .. if you have the limited sense that fair? maybe created for us a much larger area) with respect to the Wailing Wall and then I consider a bitter criticism from my fellow illustrators do guys ... .. but what's the place three thousand pictures and notes for the entire wall!? just insert a nice picture or two to a side 'else! in This will be a chance to put all .... then do not complain if someone snatches your drawings for inserting your own image! because then stand a few posts a message to notify the time that can see your work , and you may not notice it! (unfortunately it happened to me damn it!)
a rather disappointing was then found that there were very few publishers willing to look at your work, very very few compared to several years, This definitely leaves a bitter taste, both for those already working in this field for years, for young illustrators who wish to enter this field and see the doors close in the face .... maybe this is the cause of the low turnout for this year .. I have noticed very small compared to those attending my first year in this environment .. I still remember now that the halls of the fair since the early days were overflowing of people! (even if an interview was going badly made you understand what the market wants and helps you form a certain type of work).
despite everything, this is always a wonderful event that deserves to be lived comunquedi! for you I have some photos I took in those days!
